For our patients who need sedation dentistry, we are pleased to offer the services of Dr. Kathryn Hunt Bietenholz and Dr. Brooke Maryak, pediatric anesthesiologists. Dr. Katie and Dr. Brooke administer the IV sedations in our office. The IV sedation procedures are performed in our pediatric dental office as opposed to the operating room of the hospital. Meet Dr. Kathryn Bietenholz

Dr. Kathryn Bietenholz is a pediatric anesthesiologist – a medical doctor who has completed specialty training in anesthesiology and extra training in anesthesia for infants and children. She received her medical degree in 2006 and completed a one-year surgical internship at the Mayo Clinic in 2007. She completed a three-year residency in anesthesia at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville in 2010 with extra training in pediatric anesthesia at The Nemours Children’s Clinic.

 

Meet Dr. Brooke Maryak

Dr. Brooke Maryak received her medical degree in 2009 from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, GA. She completed her internship and residency in anesthesiology at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, in 2013 where she served as chief resident. Dr. Maryak was certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in 2014 and completed her Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship in 2015 at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville. She lives in Jacksonville with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
